The gallons per minute (GPM) water flow rate is the amount of water that flows through a pipe or system in one minute. It is also called the water flow rate or head. The higher the GPM, the more water is moving through a system.
A garden hose typically has a water flow rate of between 9 and 17 gallons per minute, although exact values depend on the type of hose and the water pressure.
To measure the flow rate of a garden hose, simply time how long it takes for the nozzle to fill a container with water. Then, divide the volume of the container in gallons by the number of seconds you took to fill it.

Our GPM converter is compatible with many different units of measurement, including liters per minute and cubic feet per minute. You can use it to convert all of these units with just a few clicks. gpm to lpm converter
